Upon request from a foosier who doesn't make it out too often, I will try to start putting together Kip's results from the Tuesday DYPs.  Hopefully Jerry, Tom and anyone else who is on foosworld and plays can help me out with this if I miss a week.  I think these are the results from last week:

Myself, I miss going to Kips to play with regularity, and getting to see the results is the next best thing to being there!  

 

Wow...a Singles Event. >cool<  Just curious, what kind of format did you all use, 2 out of 3, 3 out of 5? Was there any Handicapping for the "Goalie-onlies" among you? 

 

On a side note, and this from a person whose thoughts mean less than nothing...

 

I think regularly posting the Kips Weekly Event results can only have a beneficial effect upon the overall Tournament Scene there, not the least of which would be free advertising for the venue which might very well catch the eye of possible contestants resulting in an increase of event participation.

 

Who knows!  But as enjoyable as I imagine a seven player Singles Tournament being, I have no doubts a fourteen player DYP would be twice as much fun! *YIPP-eee!*

 

Well...I'm sorry to "hold forth". I really have no business commenting on something I no longer do much of, ie. Foosing at Kips.   I will acknowledge that I am more than deserving of an alexnagytryingtotellpeoplehowtoruntheirtournies.com comment(s).

 

But my heart and intentions are in the right place...

Awwww shucks, it wasn't all that big a deal, Alex--I got $100 and a 12-inch tall trophy but thanks for the kind words anyway. In all fairness to that Pro-Master, he was only Rookies Doubles champ from Worlds at the time. Now he's a Pro Master and I'm still a career Rookie, so that 2002 title don't really mean squat

I was just curious, I recognize most of the players name's, but Jerry's partner "U Ta", I'm not so familiar with.   U Ta... Is that a nom de plume, kind of like Dave "OHIO!" Fullam?  Is "U Ta".......from Utah?     Is it like, Mike "UTAH" Smith? Or perhaps it's one of those really exotic Asian name.  Is U Ta married to a lady named Lah Dee?   Does U have a well endowed daughter named...Ta?  And when they are leaving to go home, do they say....      *Oh...nevermind.*    I look forward to meeting Mister Ta someday; I just hope he's not mad at me, and that he doesn't start saying intense things like, "I pity the fool who pokes fun at my name!"

 U Ta is a buddy of mine from Bloomington.  He is a good foosballer, but hasn't been to Kip's in a long time.  I can assure you that after he gets warmed up, he is a force to be reckoned with.  Nice dude too.
